Designed to move in three dimensions, our bodies do so in our daily activities. But what if you move with pain or your flexibility is compromised? Optimal Movement puts Myofascial Integration (hands-on fascia work), musculoskeletal re-patterning, corrective exercise and stretching into practice. For muscles to shorten and lengthen effectively, Michael provides hands-on support. Once this “restricted” soft tissue is “normalized”, he re-patterns the movement that caused the pain. He provides assisted, contract/release stretching and corrective strengthening exercises.

Having resolved the causes of pain, Michael reassesses for muscular imbalances, postural upper or lower-crossed syndromes and dysfunctional movement patterns. Provided the client is at a low risk for injury, Michael then introduces 3-D Workout™, which focuses on safe, functional and mindful movements. As the training progresses so do the benefits, moving from resolving pain, developing maximum flexibility to muscle development and improved cardiovascular fitness.

A central feature in Optimal Movement’s success is the leading edge work of Dr. Dianne L. Woodruff and her revolutionary 3-D Workout™ program. It is a balanced, lifelong “self-care” workout program that is safe and effective for everyone.

Michael has collaborated closely with Dr. Woodruff for many years to develop expertise in the 3-D Workout and how to use it to eliminate pain, maximize flexibility and prepare customized fitness training programs that meet the individual needs and goals of the wide range of clients Michael serves.
